Art of Debating
Did the Â鶹Éç Africa Debate on extreme Islamist violence reach a convincing conclusion? And, your personal reflection on archive recordings of esteemed poet Gwendolyn Brooks
The series Â鶹Éç Africa Debate puts current African issues under the microscope both for its own audience and for global listeners across the world. Their most recent debate tackled the question of how jihadist groups are continuing to successfully recruit young people from around the world – but with a particular focus on British youth. And, the global audience weighed in with its own questions on why the team did not give a greater focus to young Africans and why the debate failed to arrive at a precise conclusion. Editor of the Â鶹Éç Africa Debates series Vera Kwakofi responds with her explanation of the process behind these discussions.
And, two listeners respond to a creative documentary on the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks with their own elegies.
