Reviving the sound of the Mbira in Zimbabwe
The Mbira is a traditional musical instrument that has been used in Zimbabwe for centuries. Also known as the 'African Thumb Piano', this percussion instrument is now enjoying a boost thanks to a pilot programme by the Mbira Centre in Harare that aims to teach children in schools how to play this instrument.
