Selahattin Demirtas criticises the timing of Angela Merkel's visit to Turkey
Selahattin Demirtas is the co-leader of Turkey's largest pro-Kurdish party, the HDP. It was the fly in the ointment for President Erdogan in June's election - preventing his AK Party from winning an outright majority.
The HDP was also one of the organisers of last weekend's peace rally in Ankara, at which two bombs were detonated, killing around 100 people. The Turkish government has blamed the twin attack on suicide bombers connected to the so-called Islamic State.
Jamie Coomarasamy sat down with Selahattin Demirtas and asked him about Chancellor Merkel's visit to Turkey.
