Actor Rhys Ifans plays Captain Cat and the narrator in a new version of Dylan Thomas鈥 鈥楿nder Milk Wood鈥.

Describing his character on the Today programme, he said the combination of roles creates a sense of a character narrating their own demise, like 鈥渢he life of a drowning man passing before him鈥.

But speaking to presenter James Naughtie, Mr Ifans stresses the play is by no means dark and is in fact 鈥渁 joyous alliterative tirade of erotica.鈥
