Why do we wear poppies?
Forty five million of us are expected to pin on a poppy between now and remembrance day next Sunday.
Broadcasting House wanted to get a sense of who wears a poppy and who they are remembering as they pin it on, Carrie Gracie went to find out.
In Ramsbottom she met Martin, a veteran proudly wearing his medals, selling poppies outside the village supermarket.
