French police and soldiers are carrying out a major operation in Paris targeting the suspected mastermind of last week's attacks in which 129 people were killed. There has been heavy, sustained gunfire as well as explosions in the suburb of Saint Denis. French media reports say at least two suspects have been killed and several police hurt during a raid on an apartment. The apparent focus of the operation -- Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian of Moroccan origin -- was previously thought to be in Syria.
