Mike Catt: Jonah Lomu put me on the map – for the wrong reasons

Speaking after the death of rugby union legend Jonah Lomu, former England international Mike Catt recalls what it was like to play against the New Zealand winger.

Catt first faced Lomu in the 1995 World Cup semi-final in South Africa. During the game, Lomu famously trampled over the full-back to score the first of his four tries.

“He was 18st, I was 13st - the rest is history,â€ said Catt, speaking to the Â鶹Éç's Sonja McLaughlan.

“He put me on the map, everyone knew who Mike Catt was... for the wrong reasons of course.
