Is the UK falling out of love with Cheddar?
Cheddar has long been the UKs "go-to cheese" but the "race to the bottom in terms of quality", has seen a drop in national sales says one dairy Director.
5% fewer people have bought Cheddar in the UK in 2015 than in 2014, and Jason Hinds, who is a Sales Director for Neal's Yard Dairy, said the reason behind the decline is "mass produced" Cheddar that's "absent of taste".
Jason went on to say that overall, Cheddar is still the "world's most consumed cheese" and "really well matured, lovely textured, full rounded nutty cheddar is difficult to beat".
