Runner: I was attacked during a race but still won

Kate Jayden was assaulted during a 24 hour run in Worcestershire but carried on going and eventually won the race.

The 29-year-old said "it had not long gone dark" when she heard somebody running up behind her and "thought it was a friend".

She described a feeling of "absolute terror" when the man "bear-hugged" her and grabbed her chest.

The race was suspended and restarted the following morning when it was light again.

Kate added that she "didn't mind losing out to a better runner" and "the fighter" in her helped her win the race by "quite some distance".
