Depending on which figures you look at Burundi is either the second poorest or the poorest nation on earth. So if there was a country that can't afford for its attention to be diverted by political unrest and violence, it is Burundi. Since April, when President Pierre Nkrunziza said he would be running for a controversial third term, factions have been killing each other in reprisal attacks. And as Nkem Ifejika found out, some children have been neglected in the current environment.
