There have been many warnings that the over-use of antibiotics around the world could render them less effective - if not completely ineffective - at treating illnesses. Now a review team here in Britain - the Review on Antimicrobial Resistance - suggests the use of antibiotics in agriculture around the world represents a critical threat to public health. The review is being led by the British economist, Lord Jim O'Neill.
