RBS Chief: No 'moment of forgiveness' for banks
The Chief Executive of RBS Group, Ross McEwan has spoken about the long term work the bank needs to do to rebuild a good relationship with its customers.
Mr McEwan told Dan Walker and Sarah Brett, "this is going to take a long time for people to forgive and this is going to be interaction by banks with customers to rebuild that trust. And that's what we're having to do at RBS".
And he added, "my work with this, my senior team now, is to get this bank back to being a much simpler bank, a much safer bank, so that we don't go broke again and purely focussed on customers' needs not our own, because that's where it went wrong. We focussed on our own needs not customers".
