Fear, shock and defiance - the mood amongst US Muslims
Iranian Muslims in California have been talking to Newsday about events since Donald Trump, a would-be Presidential candidate, called for a ban on Muslims migrating to the USA.
Irvine is a city with the most Iranians in the US. It's in the same state as San Bernadino where 14 people died in an attack earlier this month. Mr Trump said no Muslims should be allowed into the country until a clear plan of action was drawn up. We got some intensely personal reactions from Iranian-Americans living in Irvine.
