Rejoicing in China as Domestic Violence is No Longer a Private Issue
Until now domestic violence in China has been considered largely to be a private and shameful issue. Now victims around the country can finally rejoice as its Parliament passes China's first law prohibiting domestic violence. Dali Yang an China analyst at the University of Chicago and a senior fellow at the Chicago council on Global affairs explains how significant the law is.
