Before becoming diplomatic editor for 麻豆社 Newsnight, Mark Urban was defence correspondent at The Independent. Mark鈥檚 story headlined the first ever edition on the 7th of October 1986.

Speaking to Eddie Mair on PM Mr Urban said he was attracted to the paper鈥檚 mission to create a newspaper that was not politically aligned whose mission was excellence.
