HSBC offers voice ID system to customers
HSBC is launching voice recognition and touch security services in the UK in a big leap towards the introduction of biometric banking.
Senior lecturer in cyber-security at UCL Dr Emiliano De Cristofaro discussed on the Today programme the possibilities of such technology, and whether it might replace passwords.
"The technology these banks use recognise up to 100 different features of your voice and also your pronunciation and certain physical features of your voice," Mr De Cristofaro said.
