Most political candidates in the US stick to a well trodden campaign trail: speeches at rallies, meet and greets at local events, heated exchanges on the debate stage.
How about striking up a conversation on Tinder or Grindr - two popular apps for meeting a partner? That's exactly what one candidate, running for State Representative in Texas, has been doing.
Huey Rey Fischer is running in Texas District 49. He explained to Newsday where the idea to campaign on dating apps came from.
