Migrant crisis: 'Uniform policy' needed for EU and non-EU countries
More than a million migrants and refugees crossed into Europe in 2015, sparking a crisis as countries struggled to cope with the influx, and creating division in the EU over how best to deal with resettling people. A proposed plan between EU leaders and Turkey would see migrants arriving in Greece from Turkey sent back. For each Syrian returned, a Syrian in Turkey would be resettled in the EU. Lamberto Zannier, secretary-general of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has been speaking to Newsday's Nkem Ifejika.
