The fake image behind #PrayForNigeria
#PrayForNigeria is trending on twitter, with thousands of people re-tweeting a graphic photo showing scores of burned bodies. The image is being linked to an attack by Boko Haram militants on 31 January in north-eastern Nigeria’s Borno State in which more than 50 people were killed. Many online are asking why the carnage wrought by Boko Haram gets so little coverage on major networks.
However, the graphic picture appears to be the aftermath of a fuel tanker explosion in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2010. The Â鶹Éç’s Chris Ewokor in Abuja explains.
