The build-up of rubbish is a problem in many cities but it's proving to be a real issue in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. It is a city which is home to around five million people but there is no recycling system except in some food factories. This means that some people burn their waste to get rid of it. Maissoon Hassan Matar is the CEO of Fandora, a project that aims to preserve Sudanese culture but also promotes recycling. Newsday's Anu Anand asked her about the amount of waste generated there.
