Writer's son inspires Simpsons' gay storyline
After many years of hinting, The Simpsons' character, Waylon Smithers Jr, has come out of the closet. In an episode, to be broadcast in the UK on Sky 1, Homer helps him to find a date.
The show's writer and co-executive producer, Rob LaZebnik, tells Caroline Wyatt he wrote the storyline as a sign of love for his gay son.
