The history of leaking is a long and violent one. This week's leak of the 鈥淧anama Papers鈥� proved embarrassing for those whose financial affairs were exposed.

But back in ancient Rome and during the Ottoman Empire, victims of leaking sometimes ended up having a sticky end.
