A Man of Good Hope - Asad Abdullahi's odyssey drasmatised
A Man of Good Hope, is an award-winning book chronicling the real life ordeal of 8 year old Asad Abdullahi, who escapes the civil war in Somalia in 1991, following the murder of his mother. He perseveres through life-threatening traumas as he journeys through six African countries on his way to South Africa to seek new opportunities, only to face the threat of xenophobic violence in the townships. South African reporter, Mohammed Allie, reports on how Asad's epic odyssey has now been turned into a musical production by the Cape Town-based Isango Ensemble.
