Setting Shakespeare To Hip-Hop Beats
Devon Glover is a man single-handedly taking Shakespeare to the schools of the world. Known as The Sonnet Man, he is a New York-based rap artist who sets Shakespeare's sonnets to hip-hop in an attempt to bring Shakespeare to young audiences in a genre they know and love. He's currently in Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK where he will attempt a rap marathon - hoping to perform all 154 of Shakespeare's sonnets in his own contemporary style, as part of the celebrations. Weekend has been speaking to him about his work.
