Jeremy Hunt 'not responsible' for junior doctors strike

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt on the agreement reached between the government and the BMA.

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt told Sarah Montague, "I don't say I was responsible for the industrial action."

After four years of dispute, and eight days of strikes this year, the government and British Medical Association (BMA) have come to an agreement about new proposals to junior doctors' contracts.

According to Mr Hunt the new deal would "bring the cost down of employing extra doctors" in hospitals yet would see basic pay for doctors "go up by 10 or 11%".
