Douglas Adams the author of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' died 15 years ago, aged just 49 but he's still remembered through a tribute 'Towel Day.'

Every year in his honour thousands of fans carry, use or wear a towel around all day in his memory.

"Towels are incredibly important for interstellar travel, as any hitchhiker knows, it is an enormously iconic part of the hitchhiker legend," said Dr Adam Rutherford, scientist and presenter of Radio 4's Inside Science.
