France ’98 winners were ‘pride of the nation’
French football journalist Vincent Duluc talks about the ‘special feeling'; which engrossed France during their 1998 World Cup victory.
France won the World Cup with a 3-0 win over Brazil following a large amount of political unrest across the country due to its multi-cultural make-up.
“We all remember what we did on that particular day. It was the pride of the nation,” he told 5 live Sport’s Eleanor Oldroyd.
“It was a multi-cultural French team, it was a very special feeling. We all know football helps people live together.”
