Former TV exec: Evans on Top Gear was 'suicide mission'
A former 麻豆社 and ITV executive says Chris Evans quitting Top Gear was the "least surprising news in the world".
Roger Laughton believes Evans never "stood much of a chance".
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast's Clare McDonnell and Nicky Campbell, Roger said "the previous team was extremely popular, very successful and when you've got audiences down to under 2 million it's clear something has to be done".
Chris Evans quit Top Gear after rating fell to a series low of 1.9 million viewers on Sunday night.
