Officials in Texas say five police officers have died after snipers opened fire at a protest about police shootings of two black men. Three people were arrested at the scene in Dallas, while a fourth armed man was said to be involved in a standoff with police.

Teno Myles, who was at the protest, said "We heard a barrage of gunshots, just like pop, pop, pop as we turn around you see those same officers that waved us across the street - they just fell to the ground".

"I was stunned. My friend said 'hey, get down'. You could hear the bullets ricocheting off the building […] it's something I'll never forget."
