Van Gogh 'cut off his entire ear'
The Dutch painter, Vincent Van Gogh, was almost as famous for cutting off part of his ear as for his pictures of sunflowers and self-portraits. But new research by Bernadette Murphy suggests he cut off not just the lobe, but his whole ear. Our arts correspondent, Vincent Dowd, explains.
