Caribbean Colonial History In A Cave
The common image of the first Spanish and Portuguese colonists in Latin America is one of violence and conquest, but cave drawings found in a small remote Caribbean island show that some of the first European settlers were actually respectful of the religious beliefs of the local indigenous Arawak Indians. Alice Samson is one of the archaeologists from the University of Leicester who've been studying the drawings in the small Isla de Mona island.
