Turkish diplomat: Press abused freedom
The Turkish ambassador to the EU, Selim Yenel, has defended the closure of 131 media organisations in the country, saying they were all supporting the cleric Fetullah Gulen and were abusing the freedom of the press.
The ambassador claimed the coup had united the country and strengthened democracy, because the government and the opposition were "making concessions and listening to each other more".
