Is film The Shallows fair to sharks?

Guests discuss whether film The Shallows will negatively affect our perception of sharks.

This weekend sees the release of The Shallows, a film about a female surfer stranded on a rock by a great white shark with a vendetta.

Film critics have praised it but some marine biologists have said it plays directly into the 'Jaws effect' – stereotyping sharks as enemies of humans.

Chair of the London Film Critics Circle Anna Smith and former chairman of the Shark Trust Richard Peirce discussed the merits of the film.
