We asked a fashion designer about why we're shelling out for new clothes that look worn.

As Italian brand Golden Goose sells 拢280 trainers that are "artfully snagged, distressed, and scuffed", stylist Sara O'Neill explains the pre-loved trend is down to our desire for the authentic.

Sara said: "It takes a few years to get a leather jacket to look properly scuffed up and people are pretty impatient these days, they want what they want. If they have to fake that look, then they're happy enough to fork out for it."
