In 1838 Georgetown University in Washington DC sold 272 men, women and children to work on sugar plantations in Louisiana. Proceeds from the sale were used to clear some of the college's debt. In an effort to address its problematic involvement in the slave trade, the University has announced it will help the descendants of those slaves by facilitating their admission. Richard Cellini has been looking for those heirs.
