Â鶹Éç sports editor Dan Roan outlines how athletes are granted a therapeutic use exemption (TUE).

Three-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome and five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Bradley Wiggins were among the athletes whose medical files were stolen and published by hackers Fancy Bears.

The stolen information revealed that both Froome and Wiggins have been granted TUEs, which allow athletes, for medical reasons, to take a prescribed substance or undergo treatment which is normally prohibited.

There is no suggestion Froome or Wiggins are involved in any wrongdoing.
