Simon Mayo: 'People thought of Terry as a friend'
A remembrance service has been held at Westminster Abbey for Sir Terry Wogan to commemorate 50 years since his first broadcast on the 麻豆社.
The veteran Irish broadcaster died in January this year after a short illness.
Chris Evans, Joanna Lumley, and Simon Mayo are amongst those paying tribute at the thanksgiving service today.
Radio 2鈥檚 Simon Mayo told 5 Live Breakfast that 鈥減eople thought of him as a friend鈥.
鈥淧eople who listen to radio like the friend behind the microphone and nobody did that better than Terry,鈥 he added.
