"You've done well old friend" is the farewell message Fred Jansen, former manager of the Rosetta mission, has sent to his space probe.

He gave his reaction to the World at One's Mark Mardell as Rosetta crashed into the asteroid it had been following for two years.

He spoke about his emotions and the strain of being in charge of both the Rosetta probe and the launch of the lander Philae.
