'She has to nail the stake in the coffin of UKIP'
Theresa May's closing speech at the Conservative Party conference was designed to "nail a stake in the coffin" of the UK Independence Party, according to Times columnist and ex-Tory MP Matthew Parris.
Mr Parris said the speech signalled a new kind of Conservatism which he did not entirely like, possibly because he was part of the liberal elite targeted by Mrs May.
