Raheem Kassam against UKIP infighting
Raheem Kassam, a former adviser to UKIP leader Nigel Farage, has said he will run in the party's leadership contest, following Diane James' unexpected resignation.
He told 麻豆社 Radio 4's The World Tonight programme that he did not want the contest to turn in to a "circular firing squad" with all the candidates attacking each other.
He also said he had been in discussions with Steven Woolfe about whether or not they could run on a joint ticket.
Mr Kassam was speaking before Mr Woolfe collapsed after what was called an altercation in a meeting of UKIP MEPs. Mr Kassam has cancelled media appearances since that incident out of respect for Mr Woolfe.
