Are we in a brown car boom?
Figures from the RAC suggest that we may be in a 鈥榖rown car boom鈥 with the number of brown cars on the road rising 87% in the last three years. The total number of brown cars driving around the streets of the UK now stands at 170,000. The colour is now in the top ten sold, with silver being the most popular choice.
However, car salesman Tony Sutton from the Essex Car Company told 5 live Drive the stats need to be taken with a pinch of salt:
鈥淚 think it started from a very low base, so going up 84% probably doesn鈥檛 mean that it鈥檚 as big a jump as it seems.鈥
鈥淭he actual popularity of the colour doesn鈥檛 necessarily grow at the same rate that manufactures are churning them out.鈥
