Mosul will be "liberated" from the hold of so-called Islamic State in a few weeks, says Iraq's former national security adviser.

Mowaffak al-Rubaie, who is currently an Iraqi MP, said the Iraqi security forces were prepared to fight in the city for six months, but he expected "total victory" much sooner.
