'We paid 拢6,000 for IVF add-on treatments'
Almost none of the so-called "add on" treatments offered by fertility clinics to boost IVF success rates are backed up by scientific research, according to new findings.
The study was commissioned by the 麻豆社's Panorama, and is also published in the British Medical Journal.
Frankie Bailey-Wheeler and Tom Wheeler told Victoria how they paid 拢6,000 for fertility "add-on" treatments because of their point of "despair".
Joining them in the discussion was Dr Simon Fishel, founder of CARE fertility clinics, Juliet Tizzard of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, and Professor Carl Heneghan from the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine.
