'London may now be called a corrupted games'
More than 1,000 Russians, including Olympic medallists, benefited from a state-sponsored doping programme between 2011 and 2015, a report claims. The report's author lawyer Richard McLaren said London 2012 was "corrupted on an unprecedented scale".
David Moorcroft, British Olympian and former chief executive of UK Athletics, told The World at One that it was "very sad" London was being classed as corrupt, "when we had so many incredible performances". He also said that athletes around the world are "'happy to be beaten by better athletes, but not by cheats".
