Government 'washing its hands' of social care
The way that social care is funded needs to be radically overhauled, says Labour MP and former Health Secretary Andy Burnham.
Mr Burnham, who is running to be Mayor of Greater Manchester, argues that a proposal to allow councils to raise taxes to pay for social care would lead to inequality across the country.
"This is the government effectively washing its hands of the problem," he told The World At One.
