Lord Howard: Prison still works
Michael Howard, the former Conservative home secretary, stands by his assertion that "prison works" calling it "an obvious commonsense proposition".
He told 麻豆社 Radio 4's The World at One that if the prison population was halved, as suggested by Nick Clegg and two former Home Secretaries, "that would pose significant risks to the community and reverse the fall in crime".
