Student discovers 拢5 note worth 拢50,000 in Christmas card
One student in Scotland received a Christmas present they weren鈥檛 expecting when they discovered a 拢5 note worth up to 拢50,000 in their Christmas card.
It is one of four special notes that feature an engraved portrait of Jane Austen, created by micro-engraver Graham Short, to mark the 200th anniversary of her death next year.
Tony Huggins-Haig runs the gallery that launched the project and told 5 live Drive the student, who wishes to remain anonymous, was 鈥渁bsolutely bowled away鈥 by the discovery.
It is the second note to be discovered after one was found in a caf茅 in South Wales earlier this month. The other two remain in circulation in England and Northern Ireland.
