Marcia Shakespeare receives MBE
There are hundreds of people included in the New Year Honours who have dedicated their lives to campaigning and charitable work.
Marcia Shakespeare has been campaigning against gun crime since her daughter Letisha was killed in a drive-by shooting in January 2002. She has now received an MBE for her work.
Marcia said: 鈥淕angs who were fighting with each other and had no consideration for innocent people. It was a wake up call to say that violent crime needs to be tackled.鈥
She has since worked with thousands of young people to help deter them from violent crime.
鈥淟etisha would have a big smile on her face and be hugging and kissing me. I can see how she would be if she was here now,鈥 added Marcia.
