There was a time not that long ago when the good old traditional butchers shop seemed it was on the way out either because people weren't using them anymore or just because the owners wanted to retire and there was no one to take it over.

Well, there seems to be a bit of a turn around happening and the butchers in Mountsorrel is part of that. For quite a while it looked like Roberts would close, but the owner Michael Roberts, to his credit, stuck it our until he managed to sell it as a going concern, much to the relief of villagers.

Ben Jackson popped to the shop this morning to see why the new owner took the plunge.
