BMA: 'NHS underfunding deliberately applied'
The chair of the British Medical Association, which represents doctors, has told the World at One that "chronic underfunding" is being "deliberately applied across the health and care systems".
Dr Mark Porter said "the system itself doesn't have the resources to cope."
The Department of Health says "hospitals are putting in place steps to cope with the extra demands winter brings - supported by an extra 拢400 million of funding."
